Jessica W. Shenesey, Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist

Jessica Shenesey is a newly practicing licensed psychologist in the Mobile community. Her current practice includes psychotherapy for adults and adolescents ages 12 to 18, as well as psychological testing and consultation services beginning at age 6. She has served as an adjunct faculty member in the Psychology Department at Spring Hill College, teaching students Approaches to Psychotherapy and Counseling.

Jessica received a Ph.D. from the Clinical and Counseling Combined-Integrated Psychology program at the University of South Alabama and completed her internship experience at South Arkansas Regional Health Center in El Dorado, AR. Her focused research experience during graduate school with resilience, spirituality, mindfulness, stress, health psychology, and anxiety contributes to her ability to work with a wide range of people and psychological difficulties, including anxiety-related, depressive, mood and personality disorders, as well as interpersonal difficulties to name a few.

Jessica believes that mental wellness is influenced by a number of factors that are often biological, social, and psychological in nature, and that treatment requires taking a holistic approach to these concerns and how they interact.

Jessica’s philosophy integrates evidence-based treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness strategies using a therapist-client collaborative approach to reach client goals. From this perspective, she aims to not only reduce symptoms but also facilitate adaptability, resilience, well-health, and prevention of mental health disorders.
